If you are planning a wine tour in Germany, we recommend to do fix your travel dates around one of these awesome wine events in 2025. Any of the following wine tasting events is worth a detour or flexibility in your …these are not your average wine parties, but sound events where you get to taste wine aplenty!

This list contains wine tasting events in Germany that are geared towards experienced palates and wine-curious minds – the range of wines poured at these events (usually by people working at the respective wineries) is perfect for wine lovers, professionals, and to-be professionals wanting to deepen their understanding of German wines in a casual surrounding. Also, in most cases, people will be able to speak english – which is not necessarily the case at the average Weinfest.

This list is looking at the 2025 events – where available we included the exact dates, prices and locations in the wine regions . Many of these wine events will be part of our wine tour schedule, poke us if you want to come along.

March 8, 2025 – VDP Auction Réserve 2025

Want to taste some high-end wines? The VDP.Auction Réserve may be your thing!

Where: Eberbach Monastery near Eltville in the wine region of Rheingau, quick to reach from Frankfurt, Mainz and Wiesbaden. Tickets are at 80 € including pre-tasting the auction wines, lunch, and a monastery visit.

The first wine auction in the setting of historic monastery Eberbach has taken place over 150 years ago. Still today Members of the Rheingau chapter of the VDP association will come together to offer special reserve wines – Réserve Wines – to the highest bidder. As the lots come straight from the original winemaker’ cellars bidders can expect perfectly stored fine wines wines. Whether or not one plans to bid, the pre-tasting of the wines, the historic venue of the Monastery and the overall, almost familiar atmosphere make for a perfect reason to attend.

April 6th 2025 – Niederhäuser Weinfrühling – a celebration of Spring and Wine in the Nahe wine region

Where: at the estate Weingut Domäne Hermannsberg, in Niederhausen, Nahe wine region – 90 mins from Frankfurt

Meet nine leading Nahe wineries: Hermannsberg, Franzmann, Gabelmann, Daum, Dönnhoff, Mathern, Schneider, Staab, Stein, in one afternoon. The host estate, Winery Hermannsberg, offers spectacular views of the Nahe River valley and the famous Kupfergrube vineyards. Each winery will offer at least 4 wines to taste, all the way from estate wine to the famed GG level (aka Grosses Gewächs, aka Grand Cru).

May 11th 2025 – Franconia Vintage Presentation in Würzburg, Franconia

Where: Bürgerspital zum Hl. Geist in Würzburg in the wine region of Franken (travel 60 minutes from Frankfurt). Tickets at entrance.

The 27 Members of the VDP’s Franconian chapter come together at the historic Bürgerspital in Würzburg to present their 2024 vintage to wine aficionados. There is no better occasion to get a full overview Franconia’s top wines of 2024 in one go. Fittingly the event location is one of the most venerable wineries of Würzburg. There will be over 240 wines available for tasting.

May 24th 2025 – Hattenheim Open – vintage presentation of the Hattenheim VDP wineries

Where: at the 5 VDP wineries in the Village of Hattenheim, Rheingau (travel 45 mins from Frankfurt).

For the first time, all 5 VDP wineries located in Hattenheim will present their current vintage together. A 25 Euro ticket, purchased on the day at any of the wineries secures you a tasting of the current vintage at all participating estates. Moreover, the participating wineries are hosting guest wineries – expanding the range of wines available for tasting beyond Hattenheim and Rheingau.

June 13-15th 2025 – Mythos Mosel – Mittelmosel along the wine villages west of Bernkastel Kues

Where: The event takes place similtaneously in Detzem, Thörnich, Klüsserath, Leiwen, Trittenheim, Piesport, Wintrich, located in Mittel-Mosel area – within reach of Trier, Koblenz and Mainz.

The Mythos Mosel wine tasting weekend is possibly the most famous of all wine tasting events in Germany. Every year is one of the most anticipated public wine tasting events, as it brings together 120 wineries at 30 locations… each winery presenting at least 4 wines. One ticket allows to taste from over 450 wines. The tasting festival will stretch along the Mosel river from the village of Detzem all the way to Wintrich. All locations will be connected by shuttle busses. This event is a 3 stars wine event – worth to plan a full weekend for.

July 5 -6th 2025 – Maxime Open

Where: This event takes place in a number of villages around Saulheim in the wine region of Rheinhessen – perfect for visitors attending from Mainz, Wiesbaden, or Frankfurt.

Plenty of wines and wineries to choose from

This multi-winery, multi-village event invites you to taste from wineries committed to bringing forward the terroir of their wines. All event locations are connected by shuttle busses making this one of the most convenient public winery tours of the season. One ticket buys you the chance to taste over 200 wines.

August 30-31st 2025 – Saar Riesling Summer – Saar wine region

Where: Saarburg in the Saar area of the Mosel wine region

A top-class tasting weekend: on that last weekend in August, 15 renowned wineries along the picturesque Saar, from the villages of Serrig to Konz-Filzen open their doors and, together with around 30 guest winemakers from Germany and abroad, invite wine lovers to taste their wines. Visitors can experience and enjoy the special charm of the Saar in a relaxed atmosphere in classic wineries, and taste delicious Saar wines. All estates are connected by bus shuttles.
