If you would like to experience Rheinhessen from the best vantage point while including wine and a hike in the vineyards… this is the tour for you! Let local wine expert Marion take you on an easy hike, which will be fueled by local wines, snacks and insights. We start off with a moderate hike along the Rheinhessen wine country. Expect plenty of insights into local winemaking, wine culture and history. At one of the area’s best scenic spots you will stop for a light picknick with local snacks and glass of crisp dry Riesling. On our way back we will stop at well-known local winery for another tasting of 3 wines that reflect the region best.
The meeting point for the tour can be reached easily by public transport out of Great Wine Capital Mainz – your tour booking confirmation comes with exact instructions on where to meet your guide.
Price Includes
A minimum level of mobility is expected: expect a net walking time of 60-80 mins on rolling terrain. Check and dress according to weather forecast!
Tour departure point is at 30 minutes by public transport from the City Center of Mainz – instructions will be provided ahead of the event start.

Further informationWe can reserve a specific date for you for up to one week. This must be arranged from our end, just email us with the requested date, names of travelers and event you wish to take. We will issue a reservation email that will lock your booking once you confirm with payment.
Yes, we will do our utmost to ensure you can reschedule if a specific date is not possible anymore. Rescheduling will be based on availability. A rebooking fee of 10% may apply.
Refunds will be made right back to the card / system used for payment. Cancellation terms are specified in the terms and conditions (link at the bottom of the BottleStops website), and in the booking interface at check out.
For public tours, we usually can’t offer pickup. Still feel free to reach out and we can see if an arrangement can be made.
Sorry, we can’t take children on public wine tours. Teenager aged 16+ can join the tours at standard pricing but won’t be offered tastings. Different arrangements can be made for private tour bookings.
