If you love wine and want to experience the beauty of Germany’s historic wine country Rheingau, this tour is for you!
Join a small group of like-minded wine lovers as we explore one of Germany’s most iconic wine region: the Rheingau. Here, starting with monasteries and abbeys, some of the historic estates have been producing exceptional wines for centuries – a cornerstone of German winemaking heritage. During our journey, you’ll taste exquisite Rieslings—dry or sweet, depending on your preference—along with other regional varietals. But it’s not just about the wine! We’ll also take time to soak in the breathtaking landscapes, from rolling vineyards to charming medieval villages.
Our wine tour in Rheingau covers:
Pickup in the morning at BottleStops’ meeting point at the train station in Mainz (perfect for visitors based in Frankfurt)
First Stop at Monastery Eberbach. Home of German Wine since 900 years! We will take a quick tour of this stunning site and explore the aspects of Riesling in our first tasting flight.
Second Stop in Rüdesheim. In this charming town, we will visit an independent tasting room located in a former distillery and taste a wide range of Rhein Wines. This is also the moment to enjoy lunch.
Third Stop at a family owned estate in Rheingau. Enjoy your last flight of wines with us on this winetour at a selected owner operated winery. Sip your way from the entrance level wines all the way to premium selection.
Drop off back in Mainz at the train station for a ride back to Frankfurt, or near your accommodation in the city center.
As we cruise along the Rhine River and through the picturesque Rheingau hills, your BottleStops tour guide will share fascinating insights into the region’s wine history, wine styles, and terroir. Feel free to ask questions and get insider tips for the rest of your journey.
Join us for a day of wine, history, and unforgettable views!
